Noosa Camino - walk "the way"

Noosa Camino

"Camino" or "the way" is a Spanish word that describes a pilgrim-walking route. The images and reflections on this website were developed while walking in the Noosa National Park. They relate to the Camino traditions and Christian Spirituality. The paintings of places in the park become places for reflection and allude to a pilgrim-walk, reflection and the Christian story. Noosa Camino acknowledges the stories of the people who walked this place for millennia and pays respect to elders past and present. The Noosa Camino website is a not-for-profit project that seeks to encourage individual and community adventure, reflection and discovery as people walk "the way".

Noosa Camino takes between 3 and 4 hours and is some 9 km of easy-to-moderate walking. You will need walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water and insect repellant. Follow the National Park advice signs throughout the park. You may like to download and print the map and directions to the 14 reflection sites as the phone reception on the camino can be limited.

You may also like to visit three new Brisbane Camino experiences. Brisbane City Camino (between St John's Cathedral and St Stephen's Cathedral, 2 hours), Mt Coot tha Camino (Hoop Pine park, J C Slaughter walk to summit, 2 hours) and River Rocks Park to Fort Retreat, (2 hours). Check the Other Camino link for details and images.

Bon Camino!
