About Lindsay Farrell

Lindsay Farrell is an artist and teacher. He has been inspired as he walked and painted Camino pilgrim paths in Spain, Italy, France and Australia. Lindsay has walked and painted pictures inspired by Camino walks in the Noosa area. He has also painted Camino series in Brisbane City, Rocks River Park and Mt Coot tha. They are included on this noosacamino site.

Artist

Lindsay Farrell has maintained an active arts practice as an artist. He has held over 30 solo exhibitions in Australia, UK, USA and Canada. He has won ten major art awards including the Caroline Barker Travelling Art Award allowing him to travel and study overseas.

Scholar and Teacher

Lindsay Farrell has a PhD from Griffith University and a Master's degree from Regent College Vancouver. His teaching and academic work over 35 years in schools (St Peters Lutheran College and Anglican Church Grammar School) and universities (Australian Catholic University) involves practice, teaching and research in visual art. It engages the social, ethical and religious dimensions of life and includes collaborative projects with many community partners. In 2012 he was a Smithsonian Scholar in Washington DC. He has an Australian Teaching and Learning Citation. He often conducts workshops, presentations and lectures in Christian Spirituality and art.
