Lion Rock Headland

Direction to Site 13

Walk 1500 m along the open beach exit on the south-end on the track (Route 4) beside sacred indigenous middens. Follow the track 20m to the rocky headland. Look out onto the rock cross (beware of dangerous waves).

A rock-cave has been carved by the power of the roaring sea. The dark basalt is fractured by a red-stained quartzite cross that glows in the brilliant sunlight.

Reflection

Let us remember all who grieve and all who lament the loss of loved ones. We remember all who comfort and stand with those who mourn.

Selection John 19: 38

38 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate's permission, he came and took the body away.
